It looks beautiful but it’s dangerous for birds.

 

While reading

  Glass skyscrapers (摩天大楼) stand tall over our cities. They look beautiful, reflecting (反射) the clouds and sky. But that’s what makes them dangerous, for birds.

      After the earthquake, only a few houses were left standing.

 

  MSN News reported that from Sept 13 to 14, nearly 300 birds died after crashing (撞) into the World Trade Center towers in New York City. “I was totally shocked,” said Melissa Breyer to the New York Post. “It was like a nightmare (噩梦).” Breyer volunteers with the Audubon Society, an organization (机构) for bird lovers.

  The US Fish & Wildlife Service guesses that each year, up to one billion (十亿) birds collide (相撞) with glass in the US and many of them die. But this isn’t just a problem in the US.
