1. But Yoshimura and his colleagues now claim to have finally figured out the reason – roosters don’t need morning light to know when to start crowing; they will crow at the same time every day regardless of whether they can see dawn breaking.

本句中to have figured out使用的是动词不定式的完成式，表示该动作发生在谓语动词claim之前。Regardless of表示“不管，不顾”。

2. By consciously being aware of the schedule, our body has a chance to adapt to it, so keeping a regular biological clock is often tied to good health.

Be tied to sth表示“与……紧密联系在一起”，相当于be connected to sth。例如：
