D. The absence of driver’s education classes at school.
3. The underlined word “anticlimactic” in Paragraph 7 probably means _____.
A. less natural            B. less interesting
C. more impressive            D. more crucial
4. What can we conclude from the text?
A. Only those over the age of 18 can gain a driver’s license in the US.
B. Teenagers are staying less connected with one another than in past eras.
C. During the past three decades, the number of US teen drivers has decreased 300%.
D. Academic pressure is one of the factors that has led to teenagers’ decreased interest in driving.

Key:
结合上一段提到的“All the hallmarks (特点) of adolescence (青少年) -- music, movies, clothes, books -- are available with a mouse click or smartphone swipe (滑动).”
由第五段的“Thirty years ago, nearly half of 16-year-olds had a driver’s license,”可知A不对;B文中没有提及;由第五段可知C项的百分数不对。

B. Aerosol paint graffiti was created by graffiti artists in the 1990s and 2000s.

A. compare their different painting styles
B. show how street artists can also be famous and successful
C. explain what about their graffiti made them famous
D. present what kinds of graffiti are the best received

Key:
1) A。 B项的时间不对,应该是in the 1970s;由第四段的“Some were about politics”可知C不对;由第五段可知D不对。
2) C。由第六段的“In Bristol in the UK, there is a street art festival in August every year.”

5. Which best describes the author’s attitude toward our future lives?
A. Worried.            B. Objective. C. Positive.            D. Negative.

Key:

III. Post-reading
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the development of technology?
Advantages:
With the help of advanced technologies, our lives will be more efficient. Technology will mitigate our forgetfulness and free us of many small burdens that distract us. Our brain will therefore be able to focus on more important things like preparing for a presentation or doing “deep thinking”.
