2. What does the movie show us?
The movie shows us British people treating a refugee kindly, and how difficult it can be to fit in when living in a new place.
3. Paddington Bear is thought to be quite British and that may be why he is popular with British people. What do people find to be British about him?
(1) He is a great example of the traditional politeness that British people are well known for. For example, he calls people “Mr”, “Mrs” and “Miss”, rarely using their first names. And he has the very British habit of making “small talk”.
(2) He also loves marmalade, which is not as popular outside the UK.
