What does a beautiful heart look like?

 

II. Pre-reading – cloze

ONE day a young man said that he had the most beautiful heart in the world. Many people came and they all said his heart was   1  . The young man was very proud.

Suddenly, an old man appeared and said: “Why is your   2   not as beautiful as mine?”

The crowd and the young man looked at the old man’s heart. It was beating (跳动)  3  , but full of scars (伤疤). In some places there were even   4  .

The young man   5  . “You must be joking,” he said. “Mine is perfect and yours is a mess (混乱).”

 “Yes,” said the old man, “Yours is perfect looking, but I would never trade (交易) with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I   6   my love. 
