Warwickshire in England is known as the birthplace of the great dramatist William Shakespeare.

What is the article mainly about?
It mainly explains why Warwickshire is worth visiting.

IV. Scanning
1. What is the best way to see Warwick Castle?
Walking around the battlements and touring the grounds.
2. What can you visit in Stratford-upon-Avon?
You can visit Shakespeare’s birthplace, the cottage where his wife Anne Hathaway grew up and other places connected to the playwright. You can also walk along the River Avon and visit the theater of the Royal Shakespeare Company. 
3.What happens at the Royal Shakespeare Company’s theater?
The greatest English-speaking actors in the world act in and direct Shakespeare’s works there.
4. Why should people visit Stratford?
Because it is Shakespeare’s birthplace and an active cultural center.
5. Find a sentence in the article that can replace the following sentence.
You shouldn’t think that Warwickshire is a boring place for visitors.
In this case, however, no one should fear that a day or two spent in Warwickshire would make for dull or wasted time.

   When did the author’s feelings toward her father change?
   KEY:  When he hugged her.

II. Careful reading
1. What does a hug mean to a child, according to the article? (no more than 24 words)
KEY: It tells them that the person hugging them loves them and cares for them and confirms to the child that they are lovable.
2. What change does her father’s hug bring for the author?
KEY: She felt her dad’s hug carried her from childhood to adulthood.

III. Fill in the blanks
1. Maybe that’s why I hated kissing people, and hugging made me feel awkward.
2. And yet standing beside the hospital bed, watching my father’s life slip away, I felt like a little girl.
3. Losing a father you don’t really know is difficult.
