Their shells are thick and hard. They have two front claws and eight legs. Their claws are strong and sharp. They walk and swim sideways.
They use the claws to catch food. They eat both plants and meat. “We say hello each other with our claws. We usually drum or wave our claws. ” A crab usually has two black eyes. Its eyes can stick up. Crabs can see all around. “We can see colors. But we can’t see as much as you see. ” A crab’s gills (腮) are on its legs. When crabs are land, they keep their legs wet to breathe.
Crabs come in different sizes. The Smallest species is Pea Crab. The smallest one can be 0.5cm long. The largest species is Japanese Spider Crab. It’s usually 360cm long from claw to claw. Crabs come in many different colors. This is a Blue crab. The Blue crabs is so named because of their blue claws. Who is who? 你能分清雌雄螃蟹吗? Female has wide abdomen and flap shaped like a dome (圆顶). Male has narrow abdomen and flap shaped like obelisk (方尖顶). |
