Sentence patterns
1.Whenever we see a button, we itch (渴望) to press it because we know that something will happen.
2. The doors will not close any faster no matter how hard you press.
这两句话都使用了让步状语从句,句中
“no matter+疑问词=疑问词-ever,
含义为“无论……,不管……”。
 
3. Having a lack of control is associated with depression (抑郁). 
4. Pressing them used to help make the traffic signals change faster.
•句中动词-ing短语都是作主语使用。
注意:单个动词-ing短语作主语时,谓语动词用单数,两个动词-ing短语联合做主语表示两件事情时,谓语动词用复数。例如: Reading and learning can be two quite different things.

句中it 作形式宾语,真正的宾语是后面that引导的从句。例如:
