Activity 9:  Read the following sentence.

Liu Xinyu, a researcher of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, told China Daily that the importance of the new regulations in Shanghai is to change the past voluntary (自愿的) action into compulsory (义务的) action for everyone.

句中Liu Xinyu和后面的a researcher of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences是同位语关系。该句主干为Liu Xinyu told China Daily that... ；that 后接宾语从句，从句中to change the past voluntary action into … 作表语。
