Many young people are hurt by things like threatening and disrespectful messages, comments and pictures.

What can be done with bullying?

Seek help from someone you know
You don't need to be alone with bullying. There are people who can listen and help. It is really important to tell someone who can help.

You can talk to:
 a teacher, guidance officer or school counselor
 someone in your family – aunt, uncle, grandparent
 a friend who could help you.

Schools
Schools should make sure all students know how to report bullying. Systems for reporting need to be well understood, easy to access and confidential.

Parents or carers should respond properly
 Listen calmly and get the full story
 Reassure your child that they are not to blame
 Ask your child what they want to do and what they want you to do

Say no to bullies
Those who bully others either online or offline should take responsibility and be punished
seriously.
