·Depression: a mental illness

·What is depression?

  Depression is a mental health disorder, a psychiatric(精神病的)condition, characterized by sadness, loss of interest or pleasure, feelings of guilt or low self-worth, disturbed sleep or appetite, feelings of tiredness, and poor concentration.

  Specifically, it is a mood disorder characterized by persistently low mood in which there is a feeling of sadness and loss of interest.

  Depression is different from the fluctuations in mood that we all experience as a part of a normal and healthy life.

式,教人们改变有害的想法和信念。当患者有不切实际的负面想法产生时,他们会被告知如何用正面想法来代替这些负面想法。这可能听起来很简单,但此前有研究表明,它能治疗焦虑、强迫型神经错乱和饮食紊乱。

medication n.药物,药剂 medicine or drugs to help people

 

1. what引导宾语从句,且在主句中做宾语,意思是了解它是什么很重要,因为它会有影响很多人。
