    During those difficult days, she was still applying to universities. Rutherford plans to go to university in September to study computer engineering.  
    With this flight around the globe, Rutherford hopes to encourage more young girls and women to consider a career in aviation (航空业). “If you don’t try and see how high you can fly, then you’ll never know,” Rutherford told CNN.
“We are immensely proud of the resilience that she has shown throughout ,”Jane Gandee, headteacher at St Swithun’s School, told the BBC. “Fifty of our own students have been inspired by Zara to have a go at flying, and I am sure that her example will serve as inspiration for many more young women around the world.”
