Do you know its author?
 Don Juan, by Lord Byron, is a satirical, epic poem.
 
Don Juan, by Molière, is a five-act 1665 comedy based on the Spanish legend of Don Juan.

   What do you know about Molière?
1622- 1673
He was French actor and playwright, the greatest of all writers of French comedy.
Some of his masterpieces:

《唐璜》(1665年)
《愤世嫉俗》(1666年)
《悭吝人》(1668年)
《无病呻吟》(1673年)

Celebrations include new stagings of his plays, new statues, a postage stamp and a costume exhibition.

2. What themes are included in Molière’s works?
In addition to social problems, many common themes are found in Molière’s works, for example marriage, financial benefits, sickness, death and so on.

3. What are the characteristics of the language in Molière’s work?
In his plays, the language every character speaks is quite different in usage of words, tones and accents. He integrates “the language of the jugglers with that of the nobility and bourgeoisie (资产阶级)”.  There is also a wide range of familiar prose and verse in his works.
