1. Read the text and answer the questions.
Q1: Why did the FAO's food price index hit an all-time high in February?

Q2: What negative impacts has the Ukraine crisis had on the world?
A2: The Ukraine crisis has ① made the rise in food price index much worse; ② triggered a spike in the cost of the other daily essentials and fuel.

Q4: What impact has the rise in global food prices had on China? Why?
A4: Global price increases have had little impact on China’s food prices.
Reason 1: China relies mainly on domestic grain production and only 2 percent of the nation’s grain is imported.
Reason 2: In 2021, China saw a good grain harvest for the 18th year in a row. The harvest ensured the country’s basic self-sufficiency in grain and its absolute grain security.
