Feng Chencen, 23, had this problem. She was about to graduate from university this summer, and she thought it would be her last chance to make her travel dreams come true before entering the world of work. 2 Feng refused to give in. “There must be a way. I just need to think outside the box,” she thought.

3 She posted her tour plan on her micro blog, and asked people to offer help. They could go to her Taobao page and donate 2 yuan or more. In return, Feng would make an electronic photo album about her trip to Europe and send a copy to each donor when she came back.

It turned out to be controversial. 4 Some called Feng’s behavior begging. But some chose to support her. As one donor wrote on Feng’s Taobao page: “I sincerely hope you can make your trip come true, because it will encourage us to chase our dreams.”

Feng gathered about 6,000 yuan from the donors. Together with her beloved doll Blythe, she started her one-month trip to 12 cities in five European countries in June.
