Around the world, students have to spend over half a year in school. What’s more, most of them have to wear school uniforms. They must be getting bored with the same uniform all year. That’s why some students try to add color and other things to their school uniforms, hoping to look special.
According to a survey in the US, 38 percent of boys said they like to wear fun shoes to show their personalities. Among girls, 26 percent like to wear things like scarves and hairpins. Chinese students like to draw a picture or write something on their uniforms. When they graduate they might draw a cartoon figure like Doraemon, or write a little poem about their friends.
In the UK, most middle school students wear uniforms. Usually the headmaster decides what the uniform should look like. Students pay for their clothes. One student may have several uniforms. The British government found that parents spend more than 280 pounds on school uniforms for one child every year.
