One possible version
Lu Xun, whose real name is Zhou Shuren, was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province in 1881. He was a famous writer and thinker in China. In 1892, Lu entered school at the age of 11. In the autumn of 1904, Lu went to Japan to study. He dropped out of medical school after more than a year of study and turned to literature. In 1918, the 37-year-old published his first short story called Diary of a Madman under the pen name Lu Xun in the Chinese magazine New Youth. Lu’s works are mainly novels and essays, of which the most famous masterpieces are Nahan and Panghuang. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, many of his works were included in Chinese textbooks for primary and secondary schools, which had a profound impact on the language and literature of new China. Lu was a cultural giant of the 20th century and is regarded as the national soul of modern China. His spirit has deeply influenced his readers, scholars, and generations of modern Chinese writers.
