A group of young Chinese people called “Jialegeling” personify the mythical figures from The Classic of Mountains and Seas through costumes, makeup and location shooting.

1. Because they found that Chinese legends were unfamiliar to most Chinese people. Also, they were all very obsessed with ancient Chinese culture, so they opened up a social media account to present Chinese culture to the public.

2. They learned special effects makeup, created props by themselves and insisted on shooting on location.

3. It was difficult to find proper shooting places because some topography had disappeared over the past thousands of years, and they might be in danger when filming.
