Because they are risking their lives to treat patients with the Ebola virus.
2. How serious is the disease?
Ebola is a disease that is more harmful to humans than perhaps any known virus on Earth, according to The New York Times. People get infected by making direct contact with Ebola patients’ bodily fluids. The disease kills up to 90 percent of its victims.
3. How did doctors treat patients?
They hadn’t experienced Ebola before, leaving health workers unprepared and without the resources to protect themselves and others. But they didn’t quit to protect themselves. Instead, they stayed, treated patients, and sterilized their areas to stop the disease from spreading.
4. How did Kent Brantly recover from the disease?
After being treated with an experimental drug called ZMapp, he recovered and was released from hospital on Aug 22.
5. What role is Kent playing?
The best role he can play in fighting Ebola is to be a voice for the people of West Africa. They are suffering.

III. Careful reading
1. How was it proven that looking at cute pictures of animals can help you concentrate better?
In two experiments, participants performed the given tasks twice – before and after looking at seven pictures of either kittens and puppies, or cats and dogs. As a result, in both cases students who were shown cute baby animal pictures made much fewer mistakes.
2. What did the researchers do for their second piece of research?
To find out the answer, the researchers chose some food pictures which looked pleasant but not cute, and gave them to a third group of students. But viewing the foods did not make the students perform any better in the number test.
3. What conclusion did the author draw from the two pieces of research?
The “power of cute” could be of great use.
