I. Warming up
1. Have you ever shared your homework answers with your classmates?
2. Have you ever cheated on your exams?
If not, have you ever seen others cheat on their exams?
II. Skimming
Look through the passage and find the main idea of the passage.
New factors are making cheating much more complicated.
III. Scanning
Read the passage again and answer the following questions.
1. What are the factors that are making cheating much more complicated?
1) The wide use of technology in the classroom. (Smartphones and plagiarizing)
2) Increased pressure to achieve at school.
2. What effect does cheating have on honest students?
They are at risk and they suffer a lot because of it.
3. How can we solve the problem?
Both teachers and students need to work together to fight cheating. Teachers need to value every student and treat them fairly. Students need to take a serious look at their behavior.
IV. Sentence structure
Read the sentences and pay attention to their structure.

I. Pre-reading
Do you often go to theme parks? How do you like them?
II. Scanning
•1. What is the writer’s attitude toward going to theme parks every year? Why? And what is his daughter’s attitude?
The writer doesn’t like it, because he just can’t help spending money there and everybody’s IQ drops, while his daughter loves it.
•2. Which things are not free at the theme park?
All the stuff you buy.
•3. Why does the writer say that “Everybody’s IQ drops at theme parks”?
People stand in line for two hours so they can go on a 90-second ride. They do this because everybody else is doing it, and because they paid for it, and because they’re going to have fun!
•4. What does the writer think of Mickey at the theme park?
He pretends to be thrilled and surprised to attract tourists, and he is not very intelligent (“He is a little on the slow side”.)
•5. What does the writer think of his daughter’s highest Disney highlight?
He gets fed up with the characters’ interruptions.
III. Structure
1. 一起复习一下这些句子中的定语从句:

5) It’s as if, while you were having breakfast, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna all came to your table and made a big fuss (大惊小怪) over you, to the point where you wanted to say: “Hey, Madonna, do you mind? I’m trying to eat my waffles (华夫饼) here!”
6) Yes, Orlando is a magical place, a fun place, and a place that we will have to return to next year.
IV. Discussion
•After reading this passage, do you share the writer’s feelings about theme parks? Do you still want to go to theme parks?
