3) Students would also have to deal with a very limited choice of diet.
III. Sentence structure
Read the sentences and pay attention to their structures.
1. This means farming their own food on another planet, one that has a very different ecosystem to Earth’s.
2. Another problem for those who would like to live on Mars is the fact that there can be no farming tools.
We were most impressed by the fact that the doctors knew all the patients’ medical histories.

It / This / That is the first/second time that sb. have/has done sth.
It was the first time that Mr Smith had visited China.
It is the first time that he has agreed to join us in our research.
2. He waited a long time before he finally agreed to let me be the assistant stage manager.
1) They worked day and night for about three days before everything returned to normal.
2) She left the company before I could have a word with her.
3) Time passed quickly and before I knew it, three months had gone by.
4) It was not long before he sensed the danger of being in this position.
3. That year he suggested I take a marketing internship (市场实习生) with a local theater company.
Eg. My teacher suggested that I (should) read more books.
