As mentioned, the Door Close button is there mostly to give passengers the illusion of control.
Elevators are 20 times safer than escalators (自动扶梯). There are 20 times more elevators than escalators, but only 1/3 more accidents.
Most people who die in elevators are elevator technicians.
The area required for personal space is 2.3 feet (0.7m). The average amount on elevators is generally 2 feet (0.6m).

About the American Music Awards:
The American Music Awards (AMAs) is an annual American music awards show, created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC when the network‘s contract to air the Grammy Awards expired. Unlike the Grammys, which are awarded on the basis of votes by members of the Recording Academy, the AMAs are determined by a poll (投票) of the public and fans, who can vote through the AMAs website.
