III. Further reading

Read the passage and fill in the blanks.

Today there are many endangered species in the world. It' s time to do something for these animals. What should we do? First, we should figure out why they’re endangered. Some of the things that humans do causes damage to the environment. This can cause animals to become endangered.

Next, we can make laws to protect endangered species. We can also set up protected areas for them to live in. Keeping them in a zoo isn’t the best choice, but it’s better than allowing them to die in the wild.

Protecting animals and helping them survive is a moral choice. If we fail to do so, then we have failed not only these animals, but ourselves as a species.

Fill in the blanks.

1. Many wild animals are in danger because of human activity.

2. We can set up protected areas to create a safe environment for animals to live in.

IV. Post reading

Group activity - design a poster and write a report to call on people to protect rare wildlife. (What rare wildlife do you want to talk about? Why are they endangered? How can people try to save them?...)
